Bethany Garrow, who was named Miss Vermont USA 2019 earlier this month, visited classrooms at Christ the King School. Bethany is a 2017 graduate of Mount St. Joseph Academy.
Students posed for photos with Bethany as she visited each classroom and asked questions about competing in the pageant and what it means to be Miss Vermont USA. A highlight for many students was an opportunity to see and touch Miss Vermont’s tiara.
Bethany was named Miss Vermont USA on November 4, 2018, at the Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center in Stowe, Vermont. She is the daughter of G.J. and Jennifer Garrow, and a student at St. Michael’s College. Bethany took the title of Miss Vermont USA 2019 after engaging in a personal interview with a qualified selection committee and in swimwear, evening gown, and on-stage question phases of competition.
Bethany will compete in the Miss USA national competition, broadcast live on Fox at 8 p.m. Thursday, May 2. The competition will be broadcast live from Reno, Nevada.
During her reign as Miss Vermont USA 2019, Bethany will be advocating for her personal platform regarding the importance of mental health in teenagers and adolescents and how dance can benefit mental wellness. Bethany will strive to implement mental health classes (K-12) into curricula in schools across Vermont and the country.
Bethany is pursing her Bachelors of Arts in Business Administration with a minor in Psychology at St. Michael's College in hopes of becoming a dance therapist.
